Walking trail Sandpath
Come walk through the Kotterbos in the Oostvaardersplassen. The forest alternates with reeds, a large grassy area and who knows, you might spot a bird of prey! The route goes straight through nature with small winding paths, the occasional dirt track and a bit of paved path. Bring the dog (on a leash) and get out there! The route is 3.5 kilometres long and marked in green. The route starts and ends at the Buitenringplaats car park.

This walk takes you past several beautiful spots in the Kotterbos. For instance, you will pass a willow forest, a typical Flevoland tree species. The willow forest arose spontaneously when the polder was reclaimed. You can also try to spot the kingfisher at the pond where this walk passes. In addition, the route takes you through a section of forest with hornbeam and sweet cherry. In spring, you can smell the lovely blossom. Hornbeams are attractive to many insects and birds. Due to the dense vegetation and many leaves, birds can easily make a nest here and the eggs remain well protected.
