The ferry service was set up with six different charters: Abel Tasman, Willem Barentz, De Zuiderzee, Admiral van Kinsbergen, Sovereign and Marken Express. The ferries run from April to October. Tickets can be booked via markerwadden.nl.

Watchtowers
It is still very much a pioneering situation on this newest piece of the Netherlands. There are beautiful walks past three new bird lookouts, an impressive watchtower and the harbour beach and North beach, varying from 2.5 to 12 km long. It is still an enormously vast, unique landscape where the nature is still developing and masses of birds are roosting.
