Plan your visit to side Lelystad

Buitencentrum Oostvaardersplassen is the starting point for a journey of discovery through the Oostvaardersplassen. Various walking and cycling routes start there, numerous excursions and other activities.

In the visitors’ centre you can enjoy a bite to eat and drink while gazing over the panoramic view from the terrace.
The centre has an information desk, shop and a film and meeting theatre. The film theatre is available for meetings, training courses and workshops (for 10-20 people).

In the shop at the Buitencentrum you can find products to take with you into nature, like route maps and binoculars. There are also surprising souvenirs and gifts like books about nature and unique regional products.

Navigation address: Kitsweg 1, 8218 AA Lelystad. The Buitencentrum is difficult to reach by public transport. At NS train station Lelystad public transports bicycles are available for hire.

Accessibility for people with disabilities
The Buitencentrum is accessible for people with disabilities. There are 5 handicap car parking spaces in front of the Buitencentrum. In the Buitencentrum there is a handicap toilet. From the Buitencentrum a wheelchair-accessible route starts called the White-tailed eagle route. This route is closed in the winter from the beginning of January to the beginning of April. The bird-watching hut has recently been made accessible for people with disabilities.
