The Keersluisplas observation point - Oostvaardersplassen

The hut can be reached on foot in about ten minutes from the visitor centre. The bird species you’ll see here include common snipes, spotted crakes, water rails and various sedge warblers. Do not confuse the Keersluisplas bird hide with the De Kluut bird hide which is located at the lake with that name, as it is immediately adjacent to the visitor centre.

Route description
By car follow the A6 (Amsterdam-Emmeloord) motorway and take exit number 10, direction Lelystad via Larserdreef. Turn left onto the Torenvalkweg and follow this until you reach the Knardijk dyke. Turn right onto the Knardijk dyke. The visitor centre lies on your left, beyond the railway viaduct, where you can park. The visitor centre is not easy to access by public transport, as the nearest bus stop is an hour’s walk away. You can hire a bike in Lelystad; from the train station it takes about half an hour to cycle to the visitor centre by following Buizerdweg/Knardijk.

The hut can be reached on foot, in about 10 minutes’ walk from the visitor centre. You’ll pass two bridges and will see the observation hut when you reach the first exit.
