White-tailed eagle walking trail

The White-tailed eagle walking trail leads through the Driehoek, to the wheelchair-accessible observation hut the Zeearend and past bird-watching screen Wigbels Eiland. There, you have over 2.5 km of unobstructed views over the Oostvaardersplassen. The route is 4 km long, green marked and fully wheelchair accessible.

From the bald eagle hut, you can get a good view of the large grazers. If you take the walk in the morning, chances are you will come face to face with red deer. In the Triangle, harriers search for food, hovering gracefully and low above the ground. In the reeds and other bushes, you have the chance to see and hear bearded warblers, goldfinches and reed warblers. A harem of konik horses also lives in the area. Enjoy an encounter with these animals, but stay at least 25 metres away.

In winte…

In winter and early spring, the Triangle area is closed for management and serves as a resting area for the large grazers. The area is not accessible to hikers at this time of year.
